A Life Between the Pages: How Books and Journaling Shaped My Story

My love of books started early—thanks to my mother, who taught me to read by the age of four. From the moment I could sound out a sentence, I was hooked. Stories became my constant companions, and journaling soon followed as a way to capture my thoughts, dreams, and everyday magic. I’m rarely without a book nearby, and that lifelong passion for words has become the thread that guides my personal and professional journey.

What began with bedtime stories and spiral notebooks led to a career in storytelling, first as a hyper-local journalist, then as a digital marketer crafting brand narratives for over twenty years. Each chapter taught me something new about people, purpose, and the power of communication. Now, as a Realtor®, I bring that same heart for connection and clear communication to helping people write the next chapter of their story, in a new home. 

Here, I’ll share with you my favorite books, those I read with my grandchildren on my lap, those I read for fun, and those I read to inspire myself to be a better leader, a better wife, a better mother, and a better Realtor®.
